Buttressed by their allies, the two Sealbearers fought each other throughout the astral plane as well as the insanity of Kethuru and the hideous abominations made manifest by his will. Finally, Xiel mastered the Staff of Ascension and reformed the Nine Seals. In doing so, he ascended and is now know as Lord Viynain of the Realm of Nature. Congratulations, Lord Viynain!

For nearly an Achaean year, strange dreams haunted the sleep of Achaeans, sometimes crossing the threshold between dream and reality and manifesting in life. The phenomena intensified until early in the year of 466 AF, adventurers began dreaming of a child cradled in the boughs of a tree. They realised that this was surely a representation of the child-god Pandemonium, son
of the union of the god of War and Chaos, long asleep within the nurturing branches of the Eileithyian Tree.
Surmising that it was his dreaming causing the chaotic ripples in the Dreamworld, mortals were able to bring him out of his deep sleep, and he awakened finally as Pandemonium,
God of Strife

Some decades ago in Imperian, several Arboreals found their way to the frigid pines of Ithaqua. While the first known were said to be Malkavian, it seems nothing was ever spoken of Ironwood Grove, where several other Arboreals made their home. It was not until a herd of mammoth on the rampage crashed through the pines, several finding their way into the very council itself, that a group led by Garess discovered these long forgotten Arboreals hiding within the ice-covered pines. Disclaiming any connection with the first known Ithaquan Arboreals, this small clan glorifies the magicks of naturalism

While Garess and those with him learned a great deal about the Ironwood, the mysterious great white mammoth has yet eluded explorers. Perhaps it is the bounty of bones and tusks from the herd that roams the pass that deters the adventurous from discovering the secret, or the Arboreals making the discovery hard enough that only the most diligent will ever find the mesa where this mammoth is said to lurk.

There are several small treasures to be found, some now known, others left to be discovered, however of all the things that Ghet, Nimor's friendly bartender, found the most amusing, was the timidity of one called Ysabel in imbibing in a few drinks at the risk of swallowing a very tiny fish.

In Imperian, a voice laced with rage sounded over Stavenn, seeking the presence of one called Vis'ahl. The call was followed by an intense drain of willpower upon many within the city, which alerted the Wytchen that the voice was none other than Kal'surah, the Keeper of Secrets, Guardian of Lost Knowledge. It was not long when a group consisting of several Stavennites of varying class joined together in an attempt to summon Kal'surah in an effort to learn what he sought.

Being drawn within the ritual pentacle, Kal'surah was immediately put on guard by the efforts of a few attempting to gain control of him and bring his will under their own. Their final efforts for naught, Kal'surah would reveal little of Vis'ahl except to say that she was bound to the Pit, a spirit corrupted, her very essence drawing upon the chaotic energies of the demon realm. He was clear that her efforts to make further contact must be hindered and that he would do all he could to deter her. While Kal'surah might be the Keeper of Secrets, his words suggested that she, Vis'ahl, was the Revealer of Secrets.

In Imperian, after sending out several messengers in search of G'Quar, the noble Kohdon, and no word of his whereabouts to be heard, Osou, the Chieftain of Blackthorne arrived in Stavenn seeking assistance in journeying into the jungle. He suspected that G'Quar, after all these years of searching, had found the homeland that had been barred from the world for centuries, a village that Osou himself had originated from. The Wytchdoktor answered his call, and together they set off for the Islands of Yhumara. After a great deal of swimming and wandering in circles, Osou finally saw something he recognized, and together, he and Kamaylie entered the home he had left when a group of Stavennites discovered the hidden village, making promises of grandeur and wealth.

It was soon revealed that a tribe once devoted to the simple worship of a small group of supreme beings had become obsessed with them, their whole existence wrapped around appeasing a Pantheon of gods that demand sacrifice and compulsive devotion to ensure their goodwill. A village bred strictly as fodder for the dark rituals held within the annals of the Acropolis itself, a dark, but elaborate building of stone and tile dedicated to the cultist gods they claim to serve. A sole existence that leads one to being Chosen or eternally Damned.

In Imperian, a small boy from Tirhin wandered into Kinsarmar with a tall tale to tell. Deep in the swamps of the nearby hills was an orc graveyard, the ground so covered in corpses you had to walk on their bones just to get around. It was said that if you found a sprig of a corpse-weed and put it in the piles of corpses that the most enormous orc ever would appear. As the boy told his tale to a growing group of Kinsarmarians they decided to see for themselves if this graveyard did exist and what they could find. Such a place does indeed exist, just follow the trail of the carrion wolves if you have the courage to test one little boy's ghost story of an orc so big he blocks the sun..

In Imperian, the Lady of the Damned, Isadarr, became intrigued with one of the demons enslaved by the Noctusari, Marduk, Eater of Souls. Being a woman of Wrath, she felt that Marduk capitalized on much of what Wrath is. As she contemplated his existence, she grew curious to see how he would interact with a daemon the Malign summon, in particular, her daegger.

After some discussion with the Singularity Valafar, the Noctusari agreed to a summoning, allowing Isadarr to attend. Laying her daegger upon the ground, the dark summoners drew their pentagram and the ritual began. As Marduk was drawn forth, he was immediately interested in the daegger and drawing upon a black mist that wove around the pentagram, he and the daegger were consumed. As if this were not enough, one Summoner, by the name of Leisane seemed interested in the black mist and upon touching it was drawn within it, disappearing from the group's view. Alarmed, the group attempted various demands for Leisane's return, when a bone chip suddenly erupted from the pentagram, landing at Isadarr's feet, a fragment from the hilt of what was once
her daegger. With speculations and concern for Leisane grew, he suddenly returned to the physical realm, about the same time that the mist evaporated, leaving behind a maggot infested daegger in the likeness of Marduk himself. One would think this was the end, but as the days unfolded, more events occured, bringing a shroud of darkness that lingers in the halls of at least one of Stavenn's guilds.

Several years ago in Imperian, with a bit of cunning and willful violition, Stavenn founded the first dictatorship that would hold sway for decades. Assumed and sustained by the Gazalis, initially held by Erana but soon led by Juganothion, the Empire did for a time flourish and grow in boundless leaps, yet eventually words of discontent began to be heard, from the lowest of Servitors to the highest of Nobles. Amidst a great deal of plotting and hidden agendas, a rebellion began to grow in the streets until but a few short months ago it came to head and resulted in a final confrontation that occurred last month between the Imperator and some of the citizens and denizens of the Empire. With the gauntlet drawn, Imperator Juganothion faced the rebellion against odds that a lesser man would have fled. Holding his ground until the very end, he only ceded after a battle and blood was shed.

As one era passes, a new one begins, but as ever, Stavenn stands strong and holds her noble esteem. With a new Imperator standing in Stavenn, the months ahead will be consumed with restructure and a trial that should put to test the depth of the Empire's court system as the city tries the prior Imperator against the claims and accusations of those he once ruled.

In Aetolia, scholars and town gossips were equally excited to discover a portion of the night sky had been replaced by utter darkness. Rumours about its origins and significance abound. Soon after, chaos gripped the realm as a gaggle of harpies descended upon sapience to sate their lust for men. The harpies kidnapped many people about the land, including Hycanthus. Sightseers and treasure hunters alike went to investigate his house, in hopes of finding the rumoured item that was the source of the blank patch in the night sky. With his back door blocked by an immoveable door, the only way to see if the rumours were true was to follow a path of riddles Hycanthus had left behind. Although Anfini, Rosalind, Feichin and Vasilus were hot on her tail, ultimately it was Karim who claimed the prize; a chalice, and immortality in the stars.

It's been a busy few weeks for Imperian, finalising code for the release of the brand new Guild Charter system, creating brand new content, and continuing to provide the high level of consistent game play that has truly become a trademark of the realm. A Capture-The-Flag between the guilds showed the additional benefits of multiple Professions within a Guild, and the week before one of the unique games, the Scavenger Hunt, was once more held by the Master of Games with much enjoyment by the participants. Most recently, Timas decided to share more of his great wealth with the continent in the form of present boxes, but the glittering paper attracted the attention of many imps who stole the boxes, and they had to be hunted down and caught, providing hours of enjoyment as well as some stunningly generous gifts.

Recently in Aetolia, the entirety of Sapience has been adjusting to the momentous outcome of the experiments of Geryon, Keeper of the Sanctum. With the aid of Dorla, a Necromantic teacher, Geryon had developed a brand new method of curing for the undead, christened Reanimation. The undead now begin to harvest organs from slain creatures and using them to create the serums and poultices for curing. Meanwhile, the Druids struggled with the spirit of their old oak tree as they began to grow a new Guildhall, eventually reconciling and persuading the spirit to bond with the acorn of the new tree. A hidden encampment of Trolls known as Craneskull was discovered by Resiak Heroun while assisting the explorer Navaee. Various undead managed to infiltrate the Great Oak of Eleusis, slaying the Sentinels Guild's Tutor Inesse in cold blood before moving on to damaging the Oak itself before being expelled. After a series of difficult endeavours, the Sentinels eventually managed to resurrect their faithful tutor. Most recently, the Divine Order of Haern and its allies, led by Rosalind, worked to push a mysterious cocoon into the toxic lake of Kalydian in order to try to open it. Unfortunately, a monstrous gloch seized the cocoon and refused to let anyone near it, and it was recovered only by great strength of arms thanks to a group led by Wylliam, the fight managing to crack the cocoon open - revealing the return of Slyphe, the Tempest.

It has been an exciting month for explorers in the dark world of Aetolia! A hurricane of unprecedented strength hit the city of Ashtan, prompting a mass evacuation. When the citizens returned, they found their beloved isles rearranged! Then a violent earthquake split the earth near Spinesreach, revealing a series of abandoned tunnels dubbed the Telfinne Caverns. More recently, Ashtani citizens discovered that the city's rooftops were infested with thieves. Then came the signs of the return of an ancient, dark power in the Itzatl rainforest. The legendary Ati is said to be stirring once more, much to the dismay of the jungle villagers. Most disturbingly, however, agents of Bloodloch invaded a nearby settlement and enslaved the Dwarves there, murdering any who opposed their cruel regime. The shadows thicken in every corner of the world - will you oppose the mounting tide of darkness or use it to your advantage?

Tuesday, November 14th 2006
Recent months have proven to be eventful for the inhabitants of Aetherius. In Imperian, a world ruled by strife and conflict, it is no surprise that mortals have pushed hard to further define themselves and those places where they live. The council of Khandava has taken a strong move against demons, while Celidon was faced with the deadly touch of Necromancy that had previously seemed to bypass their home. The conflict of magick, demons, and fayth grips every corner of the world, which was only intensified by the addition of professions. While enabling someone to acquire the skills of every profession within their circle of influence, it has also forced current guilds to look hard to themselves and set their role in the world. While you are confined to using the skills of one profession at a time, it allows guilds to have people of different professions within them at any given time, and provides for diversity. The introduction of professions as they are now, is only the first step. The citizens of Aetherius can expect to see more brought in in the near future as this major change settles and people become accustomed to them.

A troop of triton warriors were noticed wandering along the roads, seemingly on a mission but speaking a tritonic dialect unknown to the Achaean adventurers who encountered them. An enchanted conch shell was found that acted as a translation device, and the triton warriors, wary of "landwalkers" but in need of help in navigating dry land, grudgingly let it be known that they were on a reconnaissance mission to locate an oceanic city last known to be off the western coast near the Northreach Forest. Guided by a group of Achaeans, the tritons finally came upon the coastal location where the city was supposed to be. Climbing down treacherous cliffs descending into the ocean, the tritons and their guides found there the ruins of the underwater mermic kingdom, Phereklos!

Aetolians discovered a new area called the Drakuum caverns near the underground city of Bloodloch, haunted by the spirits of fallen Paladins and Daru monks. But Aetolians have also found themselves distracted by recent events that could end to their advantage. After a long meteor shower, Spinesreach citizens collected the most fallen stars and received a special blessing from the stars themselves. A bit later, the winner of a Quiz in Aetolian trivia chose to share her blessing with Spinesreach. Meanwhile, a hunt for a legendary butterfly ended in tears when the beautiful creature was found to have been ground to a pulp for a sorcerer's evil (and failed) attempt at gaining power.

As a crowd gathered around him, he issued a challenge: an all-out race to the seaside village of Shastaan. Swift as he was atop his well-bred stallion, there were Aetolians swifter still, and Saiae did not win the race. However, he could not immediately fulfill his promise of teaching the people of Sapience the skill of Horsemanship as there were so few stables to speak of in the land. Soon, however, he returned from his trek across the continent, having convinced a number of tradesmen to open new stables. With that done, he set to instructing all that came in the art of riding. Exciting events in Achaea over the weekend of July 29th-30th culminated in the shattering of the ward around the mysterious man sustaining the triple eclipse, by now known to be the age-old, power-hungry foe of the gods, Slith,Prince of the Undead Legions, disowned son of Ugrach, King of the Underworld! Leading to this event, the legendary Staff of the Lorewardens guided the explorer Delphinus to the long-lost study of Meran'tir, the First of the Lorewardens. Armed with knowledge from the study, as well as a fragment of unicorn horn found there, Delphinus gave life to the ephemeral nightmare foal as a unicorn, the first true unicorn since the War of Humanity. A deal was struck with Ugrach for a blood ruby containing a part of the essence of his son, instrumental in the breaking of the powerful ward around Slith, albeit at a heavy price. Though the undead prince decimated the Achaeans amassed against him before his escape, the realm is graced by the light of the sun once more.

Previously, a lone ebon-maned nightmare, an ephemeral horse from the realm of Dreams, appeared on the Sangre plains in Achaea, hunted by a colony of numerous giant white bats intent upon her demise. After the bats were slain through the efforts of many, a net previously used to capture the nychtaur became a silvery bridle for the nightmare, who appeared to be heavy with foal. She was led away to the safety of the Temple of the Moon, but later fled back to the Sangre. Over the weekend of July 22nd-23rd, a lost prophetess was found by Achaeans, unconscious and bound within a secret cavern. The pregnant nightmare was able to revive the prophetess, then went into labour shortly after, giving birth to a female foal before herself perishing. This exciting saga culminated in the arrival of the goddess of dreams, Valnurana, and the god of death, Thoth, long unseen in the realms. The mysterious origins of the nychtaur and the herd of nightmares recently seen in the realms were revealed soon thereafter. The spirits of the forests vanished following the eclipse, all but the spirits of the Darkenwood. Without the sun's nurturing rays, forests and groves suffered across the land. Saturday, February 25th 2006
Every Iron Realms game implemented a sweeping change to their credits system this week that results in every existing and future character becoming eligible for up to 2500 bonus lessons. Previously, bonus lessons were received only upon a character's first purchase with real money, and only within 21 days of character creation. Now, however, bonus lessons are received when converting 'Credits' (which are transferable) to 'Bound Credits' (which are not not transferable, but are used to get lessons, artifacts, permits, etc), so it doesn't matter how you get the credits. You're able to get bonus lessons whether you purchase them from us or from the credit market. You're able to get those lessons no matter when you convert credits to bonus credits, and everybody gets the potential for a full 2500 bonus lessons (2.5 per credit that you convert to a bound credit), even if you previously had gotten bonus lessons from a purchase. We think this is a huge leg-up for young players and players without much real-life money, and we hope it helps you enjoy our games even more.
